OTTEMAN'S INC Meat Processing slaughters and processes beef, pork, lamb, and buffalo for area farmers and ranchers.  We also have many other customers who buy all or part of an animal from a producer and then have us process it.  Our objectives are: to serve those customers who like to stock their freezers, to do this to the best of our abilities so that they will be repeat customers, and to attract new customers because of our best efforts.

Our business is under the regulation of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Colorado Department of Health.  We maintain a Custom exempt  Butcher and Slaughter license, as well as a Measurement Standards License.  These departments regulate our business by random inspection of our facilities and scales.  They require a certificate from the Colorado Department of Health on our water supply.  We are in good standing with the Department of Agriculture and the Colorado Department of Health.

Our principle service is meat processing.  We do our own curing and smoking of meat.  The customers own the animals brought in, either they have raised the animals themselves or have purchased them from a producer.  One to two weeks later, the animal has been slaughtered, cooled, aged, cut and wrapped to the customer's individual preferences.  The meat is now in our freezer and ready for the customer to pick up.  (Our freezer space is limited, so your earliest attention will be appreciated.  Please bring boxes or other containers to transport meat.  You have one month to pick up your meat before storage charges begin.)

This is a service our customers use about once a year, and is something most people cannot do for themselves.  Our customers benefit from our meat processing service by getting the convenience of meat in their freezer and the knowledge that it was handled right.  They will eat better cuts of meat because they don't have to pay the inflated prices at the store.
